Pension "Domek kata Mateje" (Little house of hanger Mathew) is located in the vicinity of Budweis gate - entrance to the UNESCO protected historical center of Cesky Krumlov. It is located about 4 minutes on foot from the Castle and about 8 minutes to the Main Square.

Кофе и чайThe house was home of the former hangman called Matej. Matej (also called "Dobrak" – which means "Goodguy" in czech) tried to reduce torment of doomed, and saved many of them from certain death. He was also famous healer with good knowledge of various medical plants. For his knowledge he was popular among poor, and many times summoned for hearings by Petr Vok from Rozmberk when he was about to make important decision. Later it became house of local forest guard principals.
Domek Kata Mateje offers only 4 rooms (double, triple, suite for 5 persons and suite for 2 persons) so there is very peaceful, intimate atmosphere and absolute privacy. Standard rooms are equipped with kettle and dishes. Suites also offer kitchen with fridge, microwave oven,kettle, dishes and coffee and tea making facilities. Attic suite has bathroom with bath, other rooms have shower. All rooms have view to the garden and Castle. Two standard rooms share bathroom. Recent reconstruction helped to emphasize historical origin and its atmosphere. Ancient furniture was manufactured according to historical sources.
Little house - Pension of hanger Mathew has very quiet private garden which is great place to relax. Pension is a wonderful place to experience accommodation in romantic atmosphere of medieval times combined with nature. You will find no similar small hotel in Cesky Krumlov.
