We have now returned from our holiday, and wanted to tell you that we had a lovely stay in Cesky Krumlov, and that the Pension Barbakan was an excellent hotel. Its location was ideal, with a lovely view from the windows and just a minutes walk to the restaurants in town. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and stylishly furnished. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff friendly and with very good English. It was good that they had a parking space in front of the hotel as well. We would certainly recommend a visit to Cesky Krumlov and the Hotel Barbakan to everybody!

The Pension was fine. I got a key and it was good to know, that though there are no house people in the pension during the night, but just those are in, who can be there. The breakfast room 2 morning had nice music (classical), but the last day probably a chech commercial radio not the best idea for forign tourists. The room was friendly, and what is important: warm enough in that terrible cold weather. I would complain about the price, because it is really funny, that a double room for 2 people is cheaper, then a room with a dog. Though dogs are not taking breakfast, no tusing towel or hot water. So it is a bit stupid and also expensive. Of course, the price was clear for me, I am just mentioning as something not too good. All in one, it was nice, and during spiring I am planning to drive there (and visit the museums, castles) and stay there. And one more thing, it is not easy to find the pension, as the name is not well signed. Though it's orientation is fine, almost int he centre, just the brigde devides...

hereby I'm sending you a confirmation, that staying in Barbakan was a great pleaseure for us, we really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and the city also. The room and the service was also excellent, the only thing which should be imporved that parking must be included in the price. Otherwise it was great, with kind staff and very good breakfasts!

I have bookeed a room with you at the Barbakan I requested a deluxe room with 2 beds and you said than I will have it but arriving there , they owner told me : there no room with 2 beds we had one bed only but I paid for the same price as it was 2 beds so I want to be reimburse for the difference you promise me 2 beds and I got one for the price I paid In the past , In my communications with you I insist on that request It was a very bad situation for me at this hotel.

We stayed at the Barbakan for the booking below. When we got there, they did not have a reservation for us. We had to pay more for an upgraded room. They were very nice and the Pension was lovely. We would definitely stay there again. Nice breakfast. Good staff. Please advise why there was no reservation in our name.

Pension Barbakan is an excellent accomodation , with a good service, very clean and where we have found very kind people. We encountered instead some problems in the hotel Mepro, where they assigned us a four bed room located under the roof; no problems for this, but the room had two windows located just over the beds ,on the ceiling/roof ,with one curtain missing and one broken. We asked the concierge to help us, because it is very difficult to sleep with one open window just over you, with light shooting you; she told us that they wouldn't replace the missing curtain , and that the room was the only 4 bedded available. In summary the level of the service has been very poor, and the room has been very uncomfortable due to this problem. We would have expected a more collaborative and kind approach.

.Your reervations at Hotel Kafka and Pension Barbakan were well organized and they were prepared for our visits.Cesky Krumlov and the Barbakan and its staff were perfect.We will return and are sharing our joy with all of our friends. We really enjoyed Prague.It is such a beautiful city.The Kafka itself was lovely and exceptionally clean especially after our London experience. The front desk staff were polite and accomodating but not overly friendly,still operating on the old soviet model as one of our tour books described it. The neighbourhood was a bit rundown and we did have one bad experience on the #9 tram when a group of men got on at the train station and crowded against us,went through our back packs and even picked my pocket (he only got my Prague map as I had been prewarned).From that night on we took taxis back from downtown after dark so could have spent a few Kc more and stayed closer in after all. Your advice on the taxis was well received and helpful. Might we suggest that you promote the company Cedaz for transport to and from the airport for at 360Kc for two from door to door the are an EXCELLENT service and hassle free.We took a city taxi from our hotel to the train station when we went to Cesky as we had our suitcases and had the experience with the men a couple of nights previous and he charged 250Kc which was high considering Cedaz's airport fee but we willingly paid it.When we returned 4 days later the taxis at the stand wanted 7-800Kc for the same trip.I told him what I wanted to pay and had paid 4 days before and he said it was up due to inflation.We finally found someone who would do it for our price. Once again thank you very much! We will be back!

We look back on our stay in Cesky Krumlov as one of the major highlights of our trip and I only wish that we could have stayed for a day or two more. The accommodation in Pension Barbakan was of a very high standard and as good as many a five star Hotel. We had a large comfortable room (Room 6) overlooking the river with a very large and well appointed bathroom. The young lady Receptionist/Manager could not have been more helpful and we were able to park our car at the front door providing both security and convenience. Incidentally they do now take credit cards and it was not necessary to pay cash. The situation, inside the mediaeval town is ideal. My wife and I very much enjoyed our visit to the Czech Republic and we will certainly re-visit Cesky Krumlov and Pension Barbakan. Thank you also for your excellent service in finding this accommodation for us. We will certainly contact you to help with our reservations when we plan our next trip.
